Billionaire investor Mark Cuban says that following a $800,000 loss from his crypto wallet months earlier, he could not use his Gmail due to a scam call.
He said on June 22 in a post on X:
This frequently occurs when someone poses as a representative of a business, such as Google, to coerce users into disclosing account information or personal information.
While the crypto community sent him supportive words, others questioned how many emails he would miss without access.
On June 22 Chief security of the crypto exchange Kraken, Nick Percoco, penned in an X post:
Some even asked if there had been any hacking of his X account.

In a Recent Event Mark Cuban’s Crypto Wallet Ran Out
Nine months had passed since hackers had stolen around $870,000 from Cuban’s hot wallet. They might have waited for him to sign into MataMas after several months of inactivity.
According to a September 2023 a famous website article, Wazz, an independent blockchain investigator, discovered the hack first. They noticed unusual activity in a wallet that Cuban had not used in almost five months.
Cuban, meanwhile, has been actively promoting crypto lately, particularly by pushing for stricter laws about them in the US.
Not too long ago, Cuban urged the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to code control of “all cryptocurrencies” to the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). He took issue with the SEC’s enforcement-based approach to crypto regulation.
