Co-founder Joseph Lubin and other experts discuss Vitalik Butern’s significance and role while praising his role in Ethereum’s future.
Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin stated the importance of Vitalik Butern. Many experts also agree with his compliment.
Lubin says to Managing Editor Gareth Jenkinson in an exclusive interview on the Decentralized with Cointelegraph podcast that even if Vitalik Buterin “travelled to a different dimension, the ecosystem, the ecosystem would be just fine.”
“[Buterin] makes great contributions in terms of a high-level roadmap sketch that people can flesh out. He’s always considered or considered himself probably more of a crypto economist than a computer scientist.”
Validation and Impact of Ethereum
Lucas Schor, CEO of Safe Wallet, talked to Jenkinson at Safe (coin) in Berlin. He highlighted how significant it was that Buterin used their platform, validating its importance.
“In the past, people have reported that Vitalik says he uses Safe [Wallet] to safeguard a lot of his funds.”
Schor says that although other advocate play a part in Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin’s role has always had an “extra impact”.
“In our part of the ecosystem, Vitalik is someone that’s pushing for the content section agenda, and he will talk about challenges that he sees along the way. Him doing that will probably have a bunch of people then think about how can we solve these challenges, which is quite valuable.”
Impact of EIP-7702 on Ethereum
Schor also discussed the impact of Buterin on the technological development of Ethereum. He especially plays a great role in the Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) 7702.
“The core component of 7702 […] which doesn’t have code, it’s just controlled through a private key, but with that private key you can authorize a certain code, a certain spark account that is allowed to run on your address.”
For externally owned accounts (EOAs), Buterin’s EIP-7702 proposes a new transaction type with a contract code field.
This permits the implementation of smart contract capabilities on an EOA without altering its structure. This allows it to transform into a smart account for a single transaction.
Insights from Lubin
Lubin went into further detail on Buterin’s work outside of the decentralized Ethereum network, saying:
“[Buterin] spent a bunch of time in Montenegro. There are opportunities there and in other parts of the world with this clash of civilizations in a sort of organized way, by changing laws and by enabling nation states to level themselves up with respect to our technology.”
Although Lubin made it clear that he wasn’t sure, Buterin intended him to discuss the subject of Montenegro. He did clarify that Buterin is “public about things that are going on in Montenegro.” About the partnership between Consensys and the Ethereum Foundation, Lubin stated that Consensys is collaborating “closly with the Ethereum Foundation.”
